Project Description
MealSection is a food delivery application tailored to the needs of university students. The app simplifies how students browse menus, place orders, and track deliveries within their campus environment. The goal of this project was to design an interface that is fast, affordable, and distraction-free, while reflecting a youthful and accessible brand identity.

Background & Objective
Students often face challenges with existing food delivery platforms:
Apps can feel cluttered with ads and promotions.
Ordering flow is sometimes longer than needed.
Delivery options don’t always match student affordability or campus restrictions.
MealSection’s objective was to create a student-focused food delivery solution that emphasizes speed, clarity, and budget-friendliness, while providing an engaging but minimal design.
Process
1. Research & Insights
Observed how students currently order food (offline vs. online).
Benchmarked apps like Chowdeck and Glovo.
Identified core needs: quick browsing, transparent delivery tracking, flexible delivery fee.
2. Wireframing & Information Architecture
Designed a simple 3-step ordering process: Browse → Add to Cart → Checkout.
Focused on reducing decision fatigue with clean menus and categories.
Prioritized delivery status visibility with a real-time order tracker.
Added a slider for students to set a delivery fee they can afford rather than imposing a fixed delivery fe
3. Visual Design
Used bold icons and legible typography for easy reading in low-light student environments.
Integrated meal images and vendor branding to help students make quick decisions.
Solution
The final MealSection app design delivers a streamlined, visually engaging, and student-friendly ordering experience. The flow is simplified, the UI is modern, and the system is designed to keep students focused on meals — not ads or distractions.
